3-D Collage (4 week class)
Looking at the work of artist Joseph Cornell, we will use small found
objects to create assemblages (3-D collages). Using photos and decorative
or personal papers, we will create mini-environments that tell a story
and/or create a mood. Instructor: Sipple

Developing the Artist Within (5 week class)
Each week we will explore a different avenue of your creativity. We’ll
begin with some thoughtful and reflective writing assignments and explore
a wide range of art mediums including book making, watercolor painting,
mixed media collage and clay sculpture. We’ll discuss sacred art
and architecture and connect what we explore each week to our own awareness
as artists. Each class is designed to encourage you while providing inspiration
and a space to create. No studio art experience necessary. Come discover
and explore your own creativity.

The Artist Within Continues: Studio Art Class (5 week class)
For those who have taken the above class or any beginning studio art
class and want to delve a little more into various mediums. We’ll
continue to explore the art of sacred objects and use art journals to
connect our explorations to our personal strengths and interests. Come

Handmade Photo Albums (4 week class)
Create your own photo album using the Japanese-style four-hole binding.
We will make each part of this hardcover album in class – from decorating
the cover-paper to sewing the binding. These albums have an optional frame
in the cover so that you can display your favorite photo. Instructor:

Intro to Drawing (5 week class)
Students will be guided through a series of drawing exercises designed
to put the beginning drawer at ease and in "the right frame of mind"
to draw. Upon completion of class exercises and take-home reading, students
will make a still life and a portrait drawing and will surely be pleasantly
surprised by the results!

Papermaking and Decorating (3 week class)
We’ll start by making paper by hand using cotton pulp and recycled
papers. Week two, we’ll use oil-based paints and fine-toothed combs
to make marbleized paper. On week three, we will explore the technique
of paste-painting, learning how to give paper a colorful, rich, and textural
appearance. All papers are excellent for card-making, bookbinding, and

Watercolor for Beginners (5 week class)
Learn basic techniques such as color mixing, washes and dry brush. Instruction
will focus on painting with shape and capturing the essence of the still

Watercolor Studio (5 week class)
For those who’ve taken at least one beginner class. Each week
we’ll work with a different still life object or landscape image
you bring from home. Paint at your own pace and get feedback, guidance
